No.1 Boys' House
Adam Wharton came to Malvern in September 2007 having begun his teaching career at Stowe and then Cranleigh. He is married to Ruth and has three small children Eloise, George and Sophie. He enjoys Rugby, Tennis and Fly-fishing.
Adam believes that individual success rests upon hard work, personal discipline and persistence in whatever sphere of life. If boys make the effort to achieve and we do our best to help them then they can produce their very best.
“I want boys in No.1 to feel secure and significant, each one unique with individual gifts and talents, at the same time recognising that they are part of the whole.”

No.1 Regain Junior Ledder Trophy
In an exciting and close finish, No. 1 retained its grip on the Junior Race trophy. Victory looked certain when four of the first ten runners home bore the red and white colours of No.1: Eddie Davenhill (3rd); Bradley Harper (4th) Harry Siviter (6th) and Jack Nicholls (10th), all pictured [below]. But with the first six runners in each team counting towards the House total, there was an anxious wait until Seb Cheshire (31st) and Joe Comery (35th) completed the entry. Both had battles with other competitors as they finished, and their determination enabled the team to gain first place by a margin of only two points. Well done to a committed and determined team.
