No.2 Boys' House
The latest batch of FY (accompanied as ever by the worthy Deputies and Head of House) enjoyed a Cwm Llwch weekend with a difference. Setting off after a full afternoon of rugby, the group of ten junior boys arrived at the cottage in the dark in a typically cold and miserable Welsh Winter evening. A surprising amount of wood was collected in the tricky conditions – it was probably the thought of sitting around a nice big fire that encouraged this! Mrs Lacey and Merton-Jones led the supper preparation and their combined gastronomic expertise and enthusiasm resulted in one of the more memorable C.L. suppers.
A successful balloon game (who did win?) was followed by hot chocolate and a few ghost stories before a hurried and chilly move into Barry Brown’s thickest sleeping bags. Sunday morning saw the welcome arrival of some sun and a good layering of snow; both unusual visitors for a C.L. weekend! The ‘stroll’ up to the top of Corn Du/ Pen Y Fan was as spectacular as could be wished for, as the picture shows. The boys enjoyed a great weekend and gave particular thanks to Mrs Lacey for all her tireless cleaning and feeding!
