Chamber Choir Performance
The Malvern College Chamber Choir, directed by Iain Sloan (Director of
Music, Malvern College), gave a stunning performance at St. Mary's
Church, Longdon, Gloucestershire, on Saturday 26th April in support of
World Vision Ethiopia.
The audience was treated to a selection
of choral music as well as solo performances given by Simon Eaton
(oboe), Felicity Rogers (soprano), Adam New (trombone), Jennifer
Simpson (soprano), Verity Bramson (soprano), Alex Thompson (baritone)
and Andy McDade (tuba).
Choral works varied from the traditional
English anthem, 'O thou, the Central Orb' by Charles Wood to
‘Siyahamba’, a traditional Zulu piece.
The finale was ‘The Irish
Blessing’ by Rob Chilcott which was sung by the Chamber Choir and the
St. Mary's Junior Choir. Earlier in the programme the St Mary's Junior
Choir also sang two items, one of which included sign language.
