Chairman's announcement
I am pleased to announce that our Acting Head, Dr Sarah Welch, has been appointed Principal of King William's College, the Isle of Man, and will be taking up this position in September 2008 at the start of the new Academic Year.
Whilst writing, I would like to put on record the thanks of Council for the sterling work that Dr Welch has undertaken for the College during her time with us. I have particularly enjoyed working with her whilst she has been Acting Head.
I am sure we would all like to wish her every success in her new appointment and she can be assured of a warm welcome at Malvern should she ever decide to visit.

Malvern College Educational visit to Vietnam - December 2008
We are writing to inform you of plans for a Malvern College expedition
to Vietnam in December 2008. This trip will build upon the great
success of the Christmas 2004 trip to China and the July 2007 visit to
Namibia.

Schools Competition Act Settlement Trust 2008
The Director is pleased to announce the programme of awards for 2008-09 for the Schools Competition Act Settlement Trust.
The Trust received a good response last year with more that 1700 applications for the 450 awards. They are announcing two new awards this year: a postgraduate research schoplarship and 50 postgraduate bursaries; please review the details on the website www.scast.org.uk.
