Events & Activities
The Friends of Malvern College Preparatory School are an enthusiastic group who organise events for parents and pupils. Our aim is to support the running of the Prep School and provide opportunities for social contact between all those involved in the school.
The Friends have been able to fund a number of small-scale projects over the years. Fund raising is not our primary purpose, although a useful second string to our bow. Over the last few years, we have part/funded the Adventure Playground, Musical Instruments, Printing Press for the Art Department and Sewing Machines for the Textiles Club to name but a few. Most recently, the Friends have been able to purchase four large educational rugs for the Pre-Prep. Staff and Children alike are delighted with these rugs as the following pictures show.
One of the very pleasurable results of the Friends’ activities is the response of the children to such purchases – in the form of letters, drawings and photographs. The enthusiasm of the children and their obvious enjoyment at being involved in events such as Christmas and Spring Fairs makes these occasions even more rewarding.
The primary role of The Friends, however, is as a means to promote social interaction / communication amongst parents and School. There are many routes for such dialogue and we are but a small part, however social functions enable conversations that would never otherwise take place.
