F
lexibility is our watchword in order that current interests can be fully explored.
A day would typically start with our “early birds” arriving at eight o’clock, then morning assembly, followed by registration. Peter Moody, the Headmaster of Malvern College Preparatory School, our Chaplain, Father Huw, visit us each week at this time. A mixed day of formal instruction is offered with exploration and self-expression encouraged in our less structured lessons. English and Mathematics are the main lessons of the morning, the children having a break for play mid-morning. The pupils will tell you that Tuesday and Friday breaks are the best – it's iced bun days!

Lunch is at midday when pupils are served a hot, nutritious lunch. Our chef caters for any special dietary requirements. After lunch, those Nursery pupils who require a sleep are tucked up with their comforters. The afternoon programme is more relaxed and pupils experience a range activities: art and design, P.E and games, and science.

All our children are special but some have needs that require support in a caring and sympathetic way. Through small groups, we are able to provide support for those having any difficulties.

We consider pastoral care to be of the highest importance.

After-school activities are available; these are very popular and are tailored to suit most needs. The school day officially finishes at 3.30pm and this is followed by club activities. Pupils may stay at Pre-Prep until 5pm, when our boarders and those requiring tea and a later pick-up are collected and taken to Southlands boarding house for tea, where parents collect at around 6pm

Trips off-site give the children opportunities to have first-hand experience of professional productions, handling artefacts, and bringing science and history to life by exploring themes in a practical way. Our Christian values are reflected in enthusiastic fundraising for charities.

We aim to inculcate standards of hard work, courtesy and social integration within a relaxed but firm family atmosphere. A sense of humour is a must, too!
