Merger update - December
Letter from Alastair Ramsay, Head of The Downs School - 11th December 07:
As we approach the Christmas holidays I thought I would write to update you on the latest merger news. We are delighted to announce that we have now completed the vast majority of staff appointments and I am in a position to confirm that the following positions have been offered and accepted. The Governors, Karen and myself, are delighted with the way the staff team has developed and I am sure you will want to join me in passing our congratulations to all of those appointed so far.

Merger update - November
Letter from Alastair Ramsay, Head of The Downs School - 16th November 07: As we approach exeat/leave out weekend, I thought I would write to update you on merger news.
Demolition of the gym and staff flats has been completed to programme
and we are well on course for completion of the extension of the
academic quad by Christmas. Please watch the website for artistic
impressions and updates on progress www.thedowns.org.uk. A final public consultation has taken place on proposed alterations to
the Brockhill Road/Old Church Road junction for submission to the
planning authority.

Merger news - October
Letter from Alastair Ramsay, Head of The Downs School - 19th October 07: As half term approaches I thought it appropriate to update you on current progress with the merger process.
I hope you have had the opportunity to see the new uniform by now and I
would like to thank all of you who have made such positive comments. It
is good to see some children already wearing the new clothing. There
are still one or two small supply issues and Schooltogs are working
very hard to sort these out as soon as possible.

Letter from Alastair Ramsay, Head of The Downs School - 27th September 07:
"With both schools now back and the term in full swing, I thought it appropriate to write to you with the latest information concerning the development of our new school for September 08. May I take this opportunity of once again thanking you all for the kind words of support, which have been passed to Karen and myself by letter, email, and word of mouth over the summer period.
The proposed staff structure has been agreed by the Governors and the staff are currently being consulted about this proposal. We intend to make the first appointments in the very near future and you will, of course, be informed as this happens."
