Farewell to Hampton House
On Saturday, the parents, staff and past and present pupils of Pre-Prep enjoyed an action-packed farewell to Hampton House. There was the opportunity to enjoy a circus skills workshop, a rodeo ride, bouncy castle and more. Lunch was provided by the Colwall Barbecue Company.
The cake competition proved a difficult task for Mrs Walters to judge with such a variety to choose from. The winners in the children’s category were 1st Lorna Rolinson, 2nd Lottie Humphrey and 3rd Jacob Perry. Georgina Wood and Hetty Meen were Highly Commended. In the adults' competition Mrs Smith came 1st, with Mrs Meen 2nd and Mrs Connell 3rd. One of the highlights was the opportunity to be able to hold an owl!
The day was a relaxed opportunity to recall happy times with much laughter over the archive photographs with the pupils recalling times and outings they had all enjoyed. Many memories will be taken with us of happy times, but sadly we must leave Molly - our resident ghost - behind!
We now look forward to exciting times ahead as we begin the task of packing up all our belongings for the move over the hill.

More fun than ‘a barrel full of monkeys’ – Mini Malvern, Easter 2008
Variety has been the keynote of Mini Malvern this Easter, as it has the
weather! Sometimes we went for a walk in gloves and hats and felt
snowflakes, and other days we enjoyed the sun without our coats. We’ve
been egg rolling; played lots of ‘1-2-3-Where are you?’ at Forest
School; had a picnic break time; enjoyed walks; played hockey and
cricket, all outside. Rainy weather days sent us inside where we
nonetheless enjoyed fun-packed days. Other activities included:
pottery with the pottery lady; potting-up Spring pansies; baking;
computing; the infamous ‘messy play’; and many more art and craft
projects besides.

Mini-Malvern Summer 2008
With the forthcoming merger and the sale of Hampton House, I have had to make alternative arrangements for Mini-Malvern this summer. As this facility is so vital to our parents, I felt it important to make sure that this facility was in place for as much of the holiday as possible.

Forest School - combined staff activity
During the school holidays, Malvern College Pre-Prep staff and The Downs
Kindergarten staff donned their waterproofs and wellies and spent a few
hours in The Firs doing a Forest School session. It was a wonderful
opportunity for the staff to get to know each other and for Gigi,
Vivien and Kirsten to experience our Forest School. We all had jobs allocated to us - just as the pupils do - and then made
our way up to the Firs. Alex, the ‘sign and stick’, lady opened the
gate for us and we trooped through, being careful to remember our
‘Thank yous’! Alex was then given the stick, which she had to carry
correctly. On arrival we had to hoist the flag and sing our song.
