About the Pre-Prep
 |
| Karen Mountain leads the way through the bluebells in 'The Firs' |
Our pupils are all very precious. For many nursery children it may be their first experience of being away from mummy and daddy and it is so important that they feel safe and happy. If children are happy they will grow in self-esteem and confidence, and be able to tackle whatever life has to offer them. Our pupils are well-rounded, happy people.
The staff at Malvern College Pre-Prep is a caring, qualified and dedicated team; their love of their work is reflected in the enthusiasm that they bring to the form room. We all interact with the various age groups at some point during the day, whether in the classroom, playtime or at lunchtime, when we sit with the children and enjoy a leisurely lunch where table manners and appreciation of food is encouraged.

A Brief History
 |
| The Pre-Prep (Hampton House) |
Malvern College Pre-Prep School is the Pre-Prep department of Malvern College Preparatory School, situated in a Victorian house (Hampton House) set amid picturesque, safe, secure grounds. There is a gym, two adventure playgrounds and weekly use of the indoor swimming pool.
Within Hampton we have a self-contained Nursery in large airy rooms, a library and two dining rooms, where the pupils are served a hot nutritious lunch. Our chef caters for any special dietary requirements.

Moving on
 |
| Year 2 last day in Pre-Prep |
It is very sad for us to see our Year 2 pupils move on but they do return, as they grow older. They may come back in the final term at Hillstone to work with us after their exams, before moving on to Malvern College. Some pupils return to do their community service or for work experience, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. For whatever reason we are always happy to see them!

A Typical day
Flexibility is our watchword in order that current interests can be fully explored.
A day would typically start with our “early birds” arriving at eight o’clock, morning assembly, then follows registration. Peter Moody, the Headmaster of Malvern College Preparatory School, our Chaplain, Father Huw, visit us each week at this time. A mixed day of formal instruction is offered with exploration and self-expression encouraged in our less structured lessons. Read more...

Meet the staff
By Jill Walters, Head of Pre-Prep
The staff at Malvern College Pre-Prep is a dedicated, caring team. From the time they arrive in the morning they generate a warmth and happiness throughout the department. I often get asked the question “How long have my staff and I been here?"
I have been at Malvern College for some 17 years, 10 years as Head of Pre-Prep. I teach part time in Year 2 and I am timetabled in all other Forms at some point during the week. I live in Malvern and am married with a grown up family. Read more...
