On a beautiful afternoon, the U9s were in top form, playing a game absolutely dominated by MCPS. After the first quarter when Malvern were already 8 - 0 up, a few positions were changed in order that the girls could try out other positions, and challenge themselves a little more in unfamiliar roles. Bethany, who seemed not to be able to miss whenever she had a shot, moved out to Wing Attack, and Tanya came in to have a go at shooting in the D. Constance moved to Centre, and Polina went to Keeper. However, even doing this, and with unforgiving umpiring to test the girls still further, by the end of the game Malvern had won 21-0. This team showed during the game that they not only can score pass and score goals well, they can also cope with changes and still play fluently: an excellent performance by all seven players!

The U11s were delighted to get their first win this season under their belt against The Elms. Having been getting closer and closer in scores the last few games, but never quite managing to get that final whistle to go when they were ahead, it was an extremely happy team that finished the last quarter 6-2 ahead. The growing confidence of the girls could be seen throughout the game, with better passing and interception, and so a better commitment all round. All the team played their part, and the parents were so delighted that some were "off to crack open the champagne!" (Any excuse, if you ask me!)
