The bodies rocked and the heads rolled as the lights went up onstage at
the Rogers Theatre! This year's Malvern College Prep School production
is the musical 'Henry the Tudor Dude' by Kjartan Poskitt, with a cast
of over fifty pupils from Years 5-8. The life of England's most
outrageous monarch, Henry VIII, is humorously portrayed in this
entertaining rock-and-roll musical. Battles with France, the
reformation of the church, umpteen executions and the tale of six wives
are all brought to the stage by 'Tudor News' in this colourful
extravaganza. With a stunning set and costumes, the show is a visual
treat. Drama and music play an important part of school life at Malvern
Prep: five senior members of the cast have just secured drama
scholarships
and exhibitions into their senior schools. Three performances were
given of 'Henry the Tudor Dude' in the Rogers Theatre, Malvern College,
to a total number of around five hundred enthusiastic spectators.
