Girls Boarding at Malvern College Preparatory School
Southlands provides a warm, friendly environment for our boarding girls. The girls are encouraged to be considerate to each other whilst having high standards of behaviour and good manners. The house motto tends to be ‘Treat everyone in the House as you would wish to be treated’. The boarding house is the girls’ home during term time. It has all the modern kitchen appliances as well as items such as television, VCR and computer. Communication with parents and guardians is encouraged and each girl is able to have her own email address.
The girls’ needs are catered for by a housemistress, an assistant housemistress and resident matrons. There is always someone to turn to within our safe environment. All boarders are registered with our school doctor. Minor ailments are treated within the boarding house but if a girl is unwell she will be seen by our medical centre staff who are on duty 24 hours each day.
At Malvern College Preparatory School, we strive to promote healthy eating with a varied selection of food on offer at meal times. A balanced diet is encouraged and those with special dietary needs are catered for. The three main meals, breakfast, lunch and tea, are taken in the main dining room. Supper is taken in the house in the evening, and on some evenings tuck is allowed as a special treat.
Southlands is one big happy family. The girls have a great sense of fun and are happy in each other’s company. They are kind to each other and develop an excellent consideration for those around them. At the same time, the girls receive a superb standard of care where their individuality is fully appreciated.
Southlands extends a warm welcome to parents and girls who are looking for a rather special boarding experience.
