Most successful tennis team to date!
Regular tennis practice throughout these summer days and evenings on the school tennis courts is paying dividends for the senior girls' team. This is possibly the most successful tennis team (eight pairs) we have managed to field to date. They have won all their matches this term, including a recent victory at MSJ (13 - 3) and a convincing win in a triangular match against Wycliffe College Junior and Prior Park.

U11 rounders victory v Hereford Cathedral
After a rather long and laborious journey, the U11 rounders team produced their best performance so far this season against Hereford Cathedral School's U11B team. The Malvern girls were put in to bat first and were positive in their approach right from the first ball. Camilla deserves special mention, as her early rounder gave the team great encouragement and they went on to score 4 1/2 rounders in the their first innings. This was equalled by Hereford so the second innings started all square. Amelia L, reliable as ever, added another 1 1/2 rounders to her score and all other members of the team made the most of their opportunities to increase their lead. In the end, Malvern won 9 1/2 to 8 1/2 which was a well-deserved boost to the players' confidence. Well done!

Sporting superstars!
This weekend, Chris H, Brett H and Ben L headed down to Crawley to compete in the IAPS National Swimming Championships. They had qualified for this prestigious competition last term and were all keen to do as well as they could. After registering at the K2 Leisure Centre, there was a wait for the warm-up, which was a little later in the day. The boys wandered outside to the running track and were delighted to see a number of past sporting heroes: Sir Steve Redgrave, Dame Kelly Holmes, and swimming stars Sharon Davies and Steve Parry were among others such as Roger Black, Graham Thorpe, and Euan Thomas - to name just a few!

Boys sports
All age groups have had a rush of cricket matches in recent weeks. All teams have won games, and all teams have lost some. Some highlights have been the U9 team winning against King's St Alban's, the U10 team winning at St Richard's, the Colts team winning off the last ball against Winterfold, with Tiger hitting the winning runs, and the First XI's victories away at Wycliffe and Winterfold.
The junior athletics match for Years 3 and 4 with pupils from the The Downs, The Elms and St Richard's was a vibrant occassion with over eighty pupils competing in eight events in just three quarters of an hour. Pupils loved the events, ranging from the 40m skipping rope race, through a 15-second sprint, to a ball-throw and a long jump.

Girls' tennis
The senior girls have shown real passion for their tennis this term, making the most of every opportunity to get out on the tennis courts to practise. We have managed to field a team of sixteen very competent players in each of our school matches: first, at St. Mary's Convent, each pair playing four games, the final score being 29 - 3 to Malvern; second, a much closer match against Abberley, but again resulting in an overall win to Malvern, 9 - 7. Rebecca and Vicky have an unbeaten record so far, winning six out of their six matches played.
