SPORTING MATTERS Comes to Malvern in 2004

Nov 24, 2003, 16:02

Following on the success of Malvern College becoming a soccer coaching centre for the County, we are pleased to announce another exciting initiative.

Sporting Matters is a company founded by Steve Batchelor (Olympic Gold Medallist in Hockey - Seoul 1988). It offers a new approach to INSET Training for teachers and coaches in state and independent schools and aims to raise the standard of coaching in 14 major sports across the whole of the UK.

We are delighted that they have selected Malvern College as a Regional centre for the Midlands area in 2004 and hope that this is the start of a long and successful association.

To be working closely with a company that are involved with coaching and INSET training of the highest level and who are at the forefront of modern methods of delivery will be invaluable to teachers and coaches at the college as well as enhance our reputation as a school that takes sport seriously. The programme arranged is as follows :-

Tuesday April 27th Athletics

Tuesday May 4th Cricket

Tuesday May 11th Swimming

Tuesday May 18th Tennis

Tuesday September 7th Football

Tuesday September 14th Basketball

Tuesday September 21st Hockey

All sessions will run from 5.00-7.00pm and will utilise Senior and International Coaches working with students from the college who will be invited to attend and participate depending on their areas of expertise.
