The Headmaster, Hugh Carson
In the A level league tables published recently in the Times Malvern College is placed 400 places higher than a year previously. In a comprehensive list of all secondary schools the College is placed 54th. Whilst the school accepts that part of the improvement has been a consequence of a recognition of its International Baccalaureate results in conjunction with A levels, it is celebrating an excellent performance by its pupils. None more so than a local student, Sam Brewitt-Taylor who was one of only 40 students throughout the entire world who achieved the maximum 45 IB points.

Our Headmaster, Hugh Carson says, “ We notice the Times this year has changed to adding up UCAS points per pupil as the basis for their tables. Many people argue that this is a fairer way of analysing pupil performance and it has certainly resulted in a more equitable interpretation of the school’s performance. We also moved up 39 places in the Telegraph tables but their measurement concentrates solely on grades A and B at A level”.
